This workshop will actively involve participants as they explore ways to move toward data-driven instruction in their classroom reading programs. It provides busy teachers with tools and directions for collecting data about students that is absolutely essential -- counting what really counts. Teachers will learn to measure what matters most; assess with the confidence; increase consistency and organization across school years, grades, and buildings; implement predictable assessment structures flexibly; and plan short-, medium-, and long-range instructional goals. It will build on the book Accessible Assessment by Opitz, Ford and Erekson.
