At this critical time in our nation's history, the need for systems to work efficiently, effectively, and equitably is greater than ever. Although many leaders demonstrate the desire to improve or refine existing systems, there is also an inherent risk of offending stakeholder groups with a wrong word or phrase. This series is designed to help leaders consider fundamental concepts of equity work. While this is not intended to be a comprehensive training, this mini-series will build attendees' understanding of the greater context of equity work and how to begin to lead it. Topics will include: talking about equity; identity and bias; power and privilege; and policy review. Sessions will be formatted to provide content knowledge and tools to foster the application of that knowledge.
