Monthly Networking for Every Reading, Literacy, and Title I Educator!

Presenters: Nicole Aldworth & Mary Jo Ziegler

Description: Each 2 hour session will focus on a "Hot Topic" in Literacy. We will begin by exploring the new Dyslexia Guide from DPI. Session 2 will dive into The Science of Reading. Session 3 will explore the New ELA standards and how districts/schools are working to bring them to life. Other topics will be generated by the group and will include sharing and networking across districts.

About the Presenters:

Nicole spent most of her career working in the Sun Prairie Area School District and Marshall Public Schools teaching Early Childhood Special Education, 4K, and 5K. She holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in the field of early childhood education, special education. Providing rich and engaging early literacy opportunities for all children is a passion of hers, along with coaching and support of those working with young children.

After earning an M.S. in Reading, she moved into an instructional coaching and intervention role at Sherman Middle School in Madison, Wisconsin. A second Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership led to roles as district instructional resource teacher, a literacy coordinator, PK-12 director of instruction, and DPI consultant.
