The parent is the primary stakeholder in each child’s success in school.
Research suggests that engaging families in their children’s education is tied to:
• Improved school-readiness
• Higher student achievement
• Better social skills and behavior
• Increased likelihood of high school graduation
• Overall cost savings to the school (estimated at $1000 per student)

This interactive workshop will help participants increase their awareness of and strategies for effective partnership practices. Two models serve as the foundation for this workshop: Joyce Epstein’s Six Components of Successful School, Family, and Community Partnerships and the Strengthening Families strategies to promote family resilience.

The final activity includes specifying next steps for establishing or improving relationships in your setting.

We hope you are able to have both parents and teachers attend this valuable workshop.  The first 12 school tems who register with two parents and one teacher will receive one copy of School, Family and Community Partnerships and Beyond the Bake Sale books.

If you need special accommodations, paid registration must be made three weeks before workshop.
