Event 1: Action Planning

Ensuring that students have equitable access to grade-level, mathematics instruction and content is key to addressing unfinished teaching and learning. After this day of learning and planning, educators will be better prepared to make informed decisions to move students’ mathematical learning forward.

Outcomes

  • Learn about the shifts of the Wisconsin Standards for Mathematics and how to incorporate the shifts while accelerating student learning.
  • Prioritize equitable access to grade-level mathematics instruction and content using the lens of the shifts and the key strategy of learning acceleration.
  • Create a district, grade-band, and/or classroom action plan that can be immediately implemented.

Event 2: Formative Assessment Practices

An essential strategy for addressing unfinished teaching and learning in mathematics is formative assessment. Effective use of formative assessment in the mathematics classroom will help support students and educators as they navigate grade-level mathematics instruction and learning.

  • Learn formative assessment practices and strategies that help to move student learning forward.
  • Create a formative assessment action plan.

Date: September 14, 2021

Time: 3:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.

Cost: $25 for CIA member districts, $50 for all others

 

CANCELLATION POLICY: Any registration cancellation must be received 7 days prior to the scheduled date to receive a refund or avoid invoicing. CESA 8 will only provide full refund of registration fees depending on individual circumstances. Refunds depend upon the ability of CESA 8 to cancel any financial obligations created by the registration such as meals, materials, etc. Registered participants not in attendance on the day of the session will be charged the full registration fee.
