The first meeting for the National Board Cohort will be on September 25, 2021,
from 8:30 to 1:30 at CESA 5 in Portage, WI.
National Board Certification will distinguish you as an accomplished, effective teacher who has met the highest standards in the profession. Obtaining National Board Certification is a rigorous process to undertake and CESA 5 can support you through our upcoming 2021-22 Cohort.
Cohort participants should be prepared to receive constructive feedback throughout the process to prepare for certification. This cohort will also require additional time outside of scheduled meetings to meet requirements of the National Board.
What is included in the 21-22 cohort?

6-8 meetings throughout the 21-22 year beginning in the fall of 2021. The dates are to be determined by the Cohort.

Component guidance from CESA 5’s National Board Certified Lead Mentor Team.

Individual meetings with Readers.

The support and collaboration of those in the Cohort.

Why should you be a part of this?
- Wisconsin offers National Board Certification reimbursement for up to $2,000 for costs incurred.
- Scholarships are available.
- Some local school districts use Title monies and/or professional development funds to provide support to candidates seeking certification. Please inquire with your principal or central office administrator to see if this is a possibility for you.
- After the initial year of certification, you are eligible to receive annual grants of $2,500 or $5,000 per year for as long as you are National Board Certified.
2021-22 cohort price: $1,000
(does not include certification expenses)

Cancellation policy:
We are unable to issue refunds for cancellation after August 23, 2021. CESA 5 reserves the right to cancel any event. Registered participants will be notified via email if a cancellation occurs and will receive a full refund. Inclement weather policy: This event will not be canceled due to weather conditions. This cancellation policy replaces the CESA 5 standard cancellation policy, stated below.
