This training is designed for teachers who co-teach to attend together! Universal design instruction can include teachers collaborating to support learners in the classroom. We will explore different models for co-teaching, and learn about tools to enhance the shared time. In the afternoon, we will explore how we can use technology as part of our team teaching plan. By the end of the day, participants will leave with a plan to implement in their shared classroom.

Expediting co-planning to:

  • The key elements of co-teaching
  • The five basic elements of co-teaching partnerships
  • Four approaches to collaborative teaching: supportive co-teaching, parallel co-teaching, complementary co-teaching, and team teaching
  • Creative tips for finding time for co-teachers to think, meet, plan, learn and reflect
  • Eight habits of successful co-teachers
  • Issues for co-teachers to discuss and resolve
  • Improving communication
  • Streamlining data collection
  • Simplifying data analysis
  • Creating guided notes
  • Increasing student engagement
  • Enhancing note-taking skills
  • Implementing electronic scaffolding


Learning Objectives:

  1. Explore models of team teaching
  2. Identify a model that works for both teachers
  3. Learn about technology tools to enhance shared learning
  4. Develop a plan of support for your shared teaching


This workshop is offered at no additional cost to those districts participating in Universal School Improvement Services (Discount will be automatically applied.) including: Abbotsford, Augusta, Bloomer, Bruce, Chippewa Falls, Colby, Eleva-Strum, Flambeau, Gilman, Gilmanton, Granton, Greenwood, Ladysmith, Lake Holcombe, Loyal, Mondovi, Neillsville, New Auburn, Osseo-Fairchild, Owen-Withee, Spencer, and Thorp.

The cost for all other participants will be $500 per workshop.
