Mary Gerbig serves as counsel to numerous school districts throughout Wisconsin on general school law, special education, and labor and employment matters. She has extensive experience with Wisconsin school districts and the correlating regulatory agencies. She has represented school districts in numerous student special education and discrimination hearings and mediations under the Individuals with Disabilities Act (IDEA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and the Office for Civil Rights (OCR). Mary will start our morning by hosting and discussing pupil non-discrimination policies and practices, development of Title IX and other relevant legislation that is currently being developed and passed, due process, as well as hold a Q & A session. Questions can be submitted prior to the workshop by adding them to the Q and A document - click here for that document.
Dr. Marci Waldron-Kuhn will lead participants through LGBTQ+ awareness and ally training. The workshop will cover myths, perceptions, and microaggressions. Participants will explore how their own beliefs and experience impacts their practice and how awareness can lead to authentic support for students, families, colleagues, and community members.
District Teams of 6 or more will get a price adjustment of $500 for the team ( if all members attend the session) instead of individual registration fees ( this registration system does not allow us to register you as a team so please ignore the cost listed for your team at this time). These teams will be invoiced the $500 after the workshop has been completed.
