Training Objectives:

  • Become familiar with laws, policies, and best practices to support transgender and non-binary students.
  • Understand the critical need to create safe and supportive schools for transgender and non-binary students.
  • Establish effective communication strategies with the school community regarding transgender and non-binary students.
  • Be more confident making decisions related to transgender and non-binary students.

9:00 am - 11:45 am ~ Legal Considerations with FAQ

12:45 pm - 3:00 pm ~ Inclusive Practices/Culture Considerations/Scenarios

*Please provide specific legal questions and scenarios to be addressed during the legal FAQ to Dr. Heather Fish at fishh@cesa5.org.*

Registration Fee Per Team: $1,200
Recommended team members may include School Counselors, Psychologists, Pupil Services Directors, and Administrators.

*Up to 4 people per team from the same district. Each team member should have their own device so that they may participate in breakout rooms.*

Cancellation Policy: Registered participants will receive a full refund if they cancel before 10 working days before an event, minus any material costs that have already been incurred. Because of our commitment to the trainer and the food vendor, participants who cancel less than 10 working days or do not attend, will be billed the full fee. CESA 5 reserves the right to cancel any event. Registered participants will be notified via email if a cancellation occurs and will receive a full refund. Inclement weather policy: Every effort will be made to hold an event. CESA 5 will notify participants via email as soon as possible if an event has been canceled due to weather conditions.
