The Power of Culture  (For Students 6th-12th Grade)

"Growing up, I felt pulled between American and Mexican cultures, consistently stuck between English and Spanish. The best solution, so I thought, was to stay quiet and hidden until I realized that the only person holding me back was...me! In this talk, I tell the story of the pain and joy that comes from living between two cultures and how we can always use our voices to share our stories and excel at anything we put our minds to!"

About Erik Dominguez:
"As a teaching veteran of 17 years, I am thrilled to be able to connect with you and share my story. Growing up between two cultures and mixed messages, my familiarity with speaking fears fueled me to learn and share the tools to overcome those obstacles. For nearly 25 years, my team-oriented speaking and teaching style has centered around shared experiences, a philosophy that everyone has a unique story, and a belief that everyone can share their minds and hearts through powerful presentations."

 

 

 

Participant Cancellation Policy: You must contact CESA #3 at least one week prior to the scheduled event to cancel and receive a full refund of your registration fee. Cancellations not received at least one week prior to the registered event will be charged the full registration fee. CESA #3 reserves the right to cancel any workshop due to insufficient enrollment. Participants will be notified by e-mail or phone if a workshop is cancelled. If a participant is a 'no show' the school will be billed for the registration fee, or loss of the 'free' attendance slot. Accommodations: If you need an accommodation to participate including interpreter services (sign language or other spoken language) please email the workshop contact to set up these services. A two-week notice is appreciated. CESA #3 is handicapped accessible.
