How do you assess and increase student achievement in math fact fluency? The answer is Math Running Records. In this virtual book study series, you will learn how running records can help zero in on where students are in their understanding of basic math facts and then outline the next steps towards comprehensive fluency. The goal is to help students become more confident, proficient, fluent and efficient in their computation as well as develop a solid foundation of number sense.
*First 10 participants will receive a copy of Math Running Records in Action by Dr. Nicki Newton.

Learning Outcomes will be:

  • Understanding the five elements of mathematical proficiency.
  • Building a toolbox of resources to assess basic math fluency.
  • Developing instructional strategies for helping students build fact fluency.
  • Collaborating with others to develop a plan for assessing and supporting math fact fluency.
