Giving Feedback to Staff - MicroCourse

A top-tier leader in an online or blended school models how to give feedback—not in the sense of giving high-stakes performance evaluations—but more like a great coach who watches players from the sidelines, studies them at practice, reviews the post-game footage, and then meets with them to talk about the ways that they can improve. The intent of feedback is to improve, not reward or punish, and can take many forms, from one-on-one and small-group check-ins to written notes and emails. “Radically frequent check-ins,” as one high-performance organization calls them, are the “killer app” for helping people learn and grow.

Learning Targets

During this micro-course, educators will:

• Analyze the results of a staff survey and a recording of a one-one-one meeting with a staff member to determine a targeted area of growth in giving feedback to staff. 
• Develop, implement, and reflect on a plan that addresses their targeted area of growth.

Audience: District Leaders and Supervisors

This asynchronous course can be completed at any time prior to or after March 28, 2022.
