Coaching & Mentoring Academy
 

Coaches, Mentors, and Teacher Leaders provide embedded professional development and support to educators in their districts. The ultimate goal of coaching and mentoring is to improve educator practice and student outcomes through supporting educators at all levels of experience.
Initial educators and their supervisors have identified that they need more support in many areas of becoming an effective educator. Seasoned educators have identified that they could also benefit from more support in the same areas.
The most notable areas of needed support cited by educators include classroom/behavior management; restorative practices; equity; and teaching students from diverse groups including English Learners, Students with a Disability, and students of color. Closing the achievement gap is especially important.
Coaches and Mentors have identified that they need more professional development in not only deepening their knowledge base but also in helping to support educators in the above areas. Additionally, they have identified that they need more professional development in how to observe educators, record notes, and provide high-quality feedback that helps improve teacher practice/student outcomes.

The Coaching & Mentoring Academy will focus on the identified needs of all educators to build capacity, facilitate growth in educator practice, and improve achievement outcomes for all groups of students.


Registration for Both Sessions: $100 for CESA 5 Coaching and Mentoring Consortium Members
                                                        $200 for Non-Members

Cancellation Policy: Registered participants will receive a full refund if they cancel before 10 working days before an event, minus any material costs that have already been incurred. Because of our commitment to the trainer and the food vendor, participants who cancel less than 10 working days or do not attend, will be billed the full fee. CESA 5 reserves the right to cancel any event. Registered participants will be notified via email if a cancellation occurs and will receive a full refund. Inclement weather policy: Every effort will be made to hold an event. CESA 5 will notify participants via email as soon as possible if an event has been canceled due to weather conditions.
