Designing for Online Accessibility Micro-Course

During this micro-course, educators will learn how to ensure all students get the maximum benefit from the digital resources used in face-to-face, blended and virtual classrooms. As educators work through this micro-course, their students are kept in mind, particularly those with specific disabilities. Additionally, one of the most important benefits of designing for online accessibility is that adjustments made to meet the needs of individual students will ultimately benefit all students. This course aligns with the principles and guidelines of Universal Design for Learning.

Learning Targets:

  • Create your own checklist for online accessibility and use it to identify opportunities for improving equitable access.
  • Create one document and one video that meet accessibility guidelines.

*Micro-course requirements include three synchronous, whole-group virtual sessions on the dates and times listed as well as independent work between sessions. The estimated time commitment is 15 hours. This asynchronous course can be completed at any time prior to or after August 27, 2021.

Cost: This micro-course is FREE to all WISCONSIN EDUCATORS. All expenses are covered through the Education Stabilization Funds.

CANCELLATION POLICY: Any registration cancellation must be received 7 days prior to the scheduled date to receive a refund or avoid invoicing. CESA 8 will only provide full refund of registration fees depending on individual circumstances. Refunds depend upon the ability of CESA 8 to cancel any financial obligations created by the registration such as meals, materials, etc. Registered participants not in attendance on the day of the session will be charged the full registration fee. CESA 8 reserves the right to cancel any session due to insufficient enrollment or inclement weather. Participants will be notified via email through if a cancellation occurs.
