Equitable Teaching and Learning Practices in English Language Arts
Two-Part Virtual Workshop
Educational equity is at the center of the 2020 Standards for English Language Arts. This two-part virtual workshop series will support ELA teachers as they plan engaging and equitable learning opportunities for students at the secondary level.
Day 1 Outcomes:

Participants will learn how the 2020 standards and shifts in English Language Arts align with DPI’s Instructional Practice Guide for Equitable Teaching and Learning.

Participants will view a demonstration lesson and will reflect on equitable instructional practices.

Participants will prepare to design and share a lesson that strategically incorporates the revised ELA standards and shifts along with instructional practices from the DPI practice guide.
Day 2 Outcomes:

Participants will share their lesson design and will leave day two with a bank of example practices from colleagues throughout CESA 5.

Participants will have an opportunity to collaborate and network with regional ELA teachers around best practices in equitable teaching and learning.
Target Audience: ELA Teachers in Grades 6-12; C&I Directors and Instructional Coaches/Leaders
Registration Fee: (Two-Part Series) $50 for CESA 5 School Improvement Services Members
$150 for Non-Members
