FoRT Prep *Option 1* - Winter Cohort (Virtual)

THIS IS OPTION 1, WINTER COHORT:

The 5-Day FoRT Prep Class is not just a “how to pass the test” course! If you have taken the FoRT once, twice, or more and still need support, we invite you to join us for these empowering learning sessions. The virtual CESA 9 FoRT Prep Class is UNIQUE and IMPACTFUL! It requires 5 three-hour live Zoom sessions about every 2 to 3 weeks, plus time spent preparing on your own. At the end of this course, you will be ready to analyze the test questions and respond as a truly diagnostic teacher should. ADDED Bonus: You will leave this course better prepared to support the students who need you to be the best reading teacher possible.

This course is set up to support the distributed practice of the content so as to provide adequate time to process, apply, and reflect upon key concepts tested on the FoRT. Prior to each class, teachers will need to complete a portion of the test as assigned by Amy.

Week 1/ Day 1: Test Overview and Basic Intro to the Science of Reading Week 2/ Day 2: Phonology, Phonological & Phoneme Awareness
Week 3/ Day 3: Phonic/Decoding & Encoding
Week 4/ Day 4: Vocabulary & Comprehension
Week 5/ Day 5: Written Response

Cost: $250 for CESA 9 Continuous School Improvement Members
          $275 for non-CESA 9 Continuous School Improvement Members
