Paraprofessional Literacy Training Series (Virtual)

These sessions are designed for paraprofessionals who are asked to support students in their reading, writing, and language development. They will provide paraprofessionals with a deeper understanding of the foundations of successful reading, as well as evidence-aligned techniques and strategies they can use to effectively support students as readers and writers.

During this training, participants will:

• Understand the foundations of successful reading
• Learn and practice specific details of the English language that will inform positive, appropriate, and supportive interactions with students
• Learn evidence-aligned prompts and cues that support student word-learning and decoding skills
• Learn and practice effective comprehension strategies for students to use before, during, and after reading
• Learn evidence-aligned fluency-building practices

Audience: Paraprofessionals who support students in grades K-12 during literacy and/or English Language Arts instruction.

         $150.00 for CESA 9 Continuous School Improvement Members
         $250.00 for non-CESA 9 Continuous School Improvement Members
