As part of the Instruction in the Online Modality WDLC series, this session is designed to support educators as they design learning for students, whether in person or remotely.

During the micro-course Designing for Equity and Inclusion in Online Environments, educators will design their online learning implementation to ensure that it prioritizes equity and inclusivity. Educators will demonstrate that their learning design includes culturally-relevant group discussions, individually-relevant projects and games, student-driven goals, and teacher-student 1-on-1 check-ins centered on student-driven goals.

Learning Targets

  • Tailor the learning design to students’ backgrounds, cultures, interests, and aspirations.
  • Increase individual agency and self-regulation through student-driven goals.

Micro-course requirements include three synchronous whole group virtual sessions on the dates and times listed as well as independent work between sessions.   The estimated time commitment is 15 hours.

This micro-course is FREE to all WISCONSIN EDUCATORS. All expenses are covered through the Education Stabilization Funds.
