Description: Are you looking for ways to ensure multilingual learners can meet the same challenging content standards as their English-proficient peers? Every student needs to apprentice to the academic language of the content areas. Join us for strategies, tools, and supports that any teacher can use regardless of content areas or grade levels.

We will focus on:

  • Honoring and valuing the assets that students bring to the classroom
  • Academic language planning
  • Determining what academic language may be challenging
  • Academic language awareness
  • Planning for teaching of academic language
  • Critical Vocabulary instruction strategies

Collaboration is essential for the success of English Learners. This workshop is especially helpful for co-teachers of multilingual students, English Language Teachers, and Dual Language Teachers.

Cost:  $230

Presenters:  Gretchen Lettau and Amy Swick
