Problem Solving in All Seasons, Grades PreK – 5
9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
CESA 8 Aspen Room
(This event will be rescheduled if COVID conditions do not allow for an in-person event.)
Join us in this fun-filled day of math learning with Dr. Jennifer Kosiak and Dr. Jenni McCool, co-authors of the books Problem Solving in All Seasons, PreK - 2, and Problem Solving in All Seasons, Grades 3 - 5.
Holiday and seasonal activities provide excitement and a change of pace for teachers and students alike. They also offer perfect backdrops for mathematical tasks that can be related to other topics and themes in the classroom.
During this interactive workshop, participants will engage in sample tasks, identify possible student solution methods and misconceptions, and discuss how to differentiate each task. Participants will also see how tasks are aligned to the Wisconsin Standards for Mathematics/Common Core State Standards, including the standards for mathematical practice.
Cost: $150 per person for CIA member school districts. $300 for non-CIA member districts.
Participants are encouraged to purchase one of the books Problem Solving in All Seasons, PreK - 2, or Problem Solving in All Seasons, Grades 3 - 5. prior to the day of the workshop. The option to purchase a book through CESA 8 will be available upon registration for an additional $30, per book. If you would like CESA to purchase your book(s), registration must be received my July 10th.
Location: CESA 8 (This event will be rescheduled if COVID conditions do not allow for an in-person event.)
