Math Running Records for Assessing and Building Basic Fact Fluency

(This event will be held virtually if COVID conditions do not allow for an in-person event.)
August 10, 2021 and August 11, 2021
9 a.m. - 3 p.m. each daily
During this two-day workshop, participants will learn how to use Math Running Records to assess students’ basic fact fluency and determine the next steps for increasing student achievement in comprehensive fluency. Dr. Nicki Newton’s best-selling book Math Running Records in Action: A Framework for Assessing Basic Fact Fluency in Grades K - 5 will be referenced throughout the two days.
Aug 10th: Addition and Subtraction Running Records
August 11th: Multiplication and Division Running Records
Topics include:
- Administering, analyzing, and interpreting Math Running Records.
- Developing instructional strategies to help build fact fluency.
- Games to support fact fluency development.
- Collaborating with others to develop an implementation plan at the district level.
Audience: Grades K - 5 math educators, including math interventionists, special education teachers, and paraprofessionals who support students in math
Participants are encouraged to purchase the book Math Running Records in Action: A Framework for Assessing Basic Fact Fluency in Grades K - 5 prior to the day of the workshop.
Cost: $200 per person for CIA member school districts. $400 for non-CIA member districts.

CANCELLATION POLICY:
Any registration cancellation must be received 7 days prior to the scheduled date to receive a refund or avoid invoicing. CESA 8 will only provide full refund of registration fees depending on individual circumstances. Refunds depend upon the ability of CESA 8 to cancel any financial obligations created by the registration such as meals, materials, etc. Registered participants not in attendance on the day of the session will be charged the full registration fee.
