What you will learn:
The purpose of Restorative Practices is to build healthy communities, increase social capital, decrease antisocial behavior, repair harm, and restore relationships. Learners will focus on building their skills in restorative practice technique of formal conferencing. This is a technique used to repair harm and in lieu of punitive discipline instead focusing on building communication and problem-solving skills.
Learners will be able to use formal conferencing as a Tier 3 technique in their work with students to repair and build relationships with adults and peers.
This training is meant for district teams or individuals to attend to enhance their knowledge of Formal Conferencing and build their own capacity to lead this work.
