What is RITE?

The Residency In Teacher Education (RITE) program is a Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) approved post-baccalaureate pathway to teacher licensure.  RITE's primary objective is to grow highly qualified and effective teachers to work in PK-12 classrooms throughout the state of Wisconsin. Coursework and instruction are provided in planning & delivering effective and inclusive instructional practices, monitoring & assessing student progress, classroom management, and educational technology - all implemented during a residency-based teaching experience.

RITE programming is built on the ideals that effective teaching requires a lifelong commitment to and practice of active learning, reflective inquiry, inclusive instruction, continuous improvement, professional disposition, and collaborative leadership. The RITE Program Conceptual Framework aligns with the Effectiveness Project Teacher Performance Evaluation System.
