Assessment is a key part of learning. But how we define assessment and use assessment in our classroom has an impact. In this 3-part series New Teachers will have time to build their assessment literacy around assessment for, as, and of learning. We will dive into the role of both students and teachers in the assessment process using tools created by DPI and CESAs.

After attending this three-part series, you will be able to:

  • determine why assessment is important to student learning.
  • explain the assessment design process to create equitable opportunities for all students.
  • determine what to assess, and if the assessment I am doing is relevant, accurate, and appropriate to student learning.
  • be able to identify why including students in the assessment process is important, and strategies for engaging students.

This series is available to all CESA10 districts at no extra charge.
