**Due to the continued increased risk of transmission of coronavirus at in-person gatherings, this workshop will be conducted virtually in spring of 2021. Due to the high-level of interaction among participants, registration is limited to the first 30 registrants. We look forward to the eventual return to in-person workshops.**
For those seeking training for language interpreters for families at IEP meetings, DPI has partnered with WI FACETS, LEAs, and other organizations to develop a one-day training for interpreters at IEP meetings.
The training provides:
•Increased Knowledge of legal responsibilities and requirements related to translation and interpretation of special education, terms, concepts, tools and resources for interpreters
• Improved Skills to handle common ethical considerations while interpreting for IEP meetings
•Increased Awareness of laws, regulations and policies related to the educational rights of students who receive special education through an IEP and who may also be English Language Learners
There is no charge for this training.
