We know how important student to student discourse is in the math classroom. Join this session to learn instructional strategies to get students talking about their thinking and also make the conversations deep and meaningful. Learn to use student discourse to build a classroom where students own the thinking, the strategies, and the mathematics. Learn how to increase feedback on a daily basis and use student conversation as an authentic assessment.

OBJECTIVES:
Participants will:
- Explore instructional strategies that increase student-to-student dialogue within the math classroom;
- Learn to design lesson plans to promote discourse; and,
- Dive into the 5 principles of math instruction that build a collaborative, engaged learning environment

Cancellation Policy:
Any registration cancellation must be received at least 8 business days before event in order for a full conference fee refund to be issued (full refunds do not include service fees. Service fees are nonrefundable).Registration cancellations received 1-7 business days before an event, a refund, minus $50 for each participant, will be issued. Persons who are registered, but not in attendance on the day of the session ("no call, no show") will be charged the full registration fee. CESA 6 reserves the right to cancel any session due to insufficient enrollment. Participants will be notified by email if a cancellation occurs.
