Description:

For this special event, sign up for just one day for an overview of Thinking Maps to use in your classroom, or take our 3-day series for additional coaching and lead trainings with your fellow teachers and in your buildings!

By visualizing our thinking, we create concrete images of abstract thoughts. These patterns help all students reach higher levels of critical and creative thinking by utilizing consistent visual patterns linked directly to eight specific thought processes. Leave this workshop with the materials and resources you need to use Thinking Maps in your grade level or content area.

This professional learning opportunity is designed for teachers and school leadership teams to use Thinking Maps as a common visual language for applying and improving thinking processes, communicating ideas and points of view, and assessing progress over time. Thinking Maps is a visual thinking tool that provides an equitable approach for all students to access content and the language of thinking.

Our Thinking Maps TOT aligns with 21st Century professional development that takes place within communities committed to continuous improvement, collective responsibility, and goal alignment. Skilled educators at the school and district level will focus on learning Thinking maps and supporting Thinking Maps with their teams, departments, or buildings, so they lead the implementation of Thinking Maps for critical and creative thinking in all content areas and grade levels. The teacher leaders will learn how to embed continuous learning sessions about relevant Thinking Maps applications into regularly scheduled planning sessions and/or Professional Learning Communities.

Attending Day 1 allows for participants to use Thinking Maps in their individual courses/classrooms. Day 1 participants receive the Thinking Maps Language for Learning Binder.

By attending the 3-day training, participants will be able to coach and model the use of Thinking Maps with co-teachers and teams. Additionally, participants will learn how to lead training their buildings.

What's also included in the 3-day training:

  • 3 days of professional development with following up coaching for implementation sessions
  • One year of read-only digital access and a physical copy of Thinking Maps: A Language for Learning, 2nd Ed. Teacher’s Guide and Trainer’s Guide
  • One year subscription to the online Thinking Maps Learning Community (TMLC)

Cost: Day 1 Only: $200 per person; Entire series: $699 per person

When registering, please select whether you are signed up for Day 1 session only, or for the entire series. If you're registering for the entire series, please select your prefered days of attendance. You will automatically be registered for those days and will be billed accordingly.

Registrations received after the deadline are accepted, but participants may not receive the physical copies of the resource material by the training date. They will, however, have access to the read-only digital versions for the training.
