Do you read ebooks on you mobile device and think how cool it would be if you or better yet, your students could create your own ebooks of lesson or professional development content, hyperlinks, audio, images and video that you could share others on their mobile devices. The possibilities are endless:
• Multimedia stories
• Outline and describe character(s)
• Multimedia book report.
• Journal for a particular place or person
• Multimedia magazine on a study area
• Multimedia map-tour of country or place
• Introduce yourself in a fun way
• Presentation in your content area
ePub is an open format for many e-pub readers including iPads, iPhones, iPod Touch and other mobile devices that support the open epub standard. In this workshop we will explore the world of creating our own epub books on Macs and PCs, and explore a variety of ways to share them out to our student or the world.
Prerequisites: Basic Computer Skills, previous use of mobile reading device
Audience: K-12 Educators & Administrators
$150.00 per participant
Registration begins at 8:30 am
Workshop Time: 9:00 am - 3:00 pm
Viterbo Credit is available for an additional $200. Participants can complete Viterbo Registration and payment the day of workshop. University credit will be awarded based on the expectation that you attend the entire workshop and complete all assignments.
Participant Cancellation Policy:
You must contact CESA 4 to cancel attendance one week prior to the scheduled event unless otherwise stated in the individual event details. CESA 4 will only provide full refund of registration fees depending on individual circumstances. Refunds depend upon the ability of CESA 4 to cancel any financial obligations created by the registration such as meals, materials, etc. CESA 4 reserves the right to cancel any workshop due to insufficient enrollment. Participants will be notified by e-mail or phone if a workshop is cancelled. If a participant is a 'no show' the school will be billed for the registration fee, or loss of the 'free' attendance slot.
Dietary Restrictions:
Because of the number of meals served, number of ingredients used, and food product changes from vendors, we cannot guarantee dietary restrictions as indicated in a user's myQuickReg profile will be accommodated. Participants with dietary restrictions such as food allergies should plan to bring their own refreshments.
Weather Conditions:
If a workshop has been cancelled due to weather conditions, every effort will be made to reschedule the workshop. If weather conditions are questionable, please call CESA 4 Voice Mail at (608) 786-4800; Toll Free (800) 514-3075. A message will be posted regarding workshop weather cancellations.
Additional Accommodations:
If you need an accommodation to participate including interpreter services (sign language or other spoken language) please email the workshop contact to set up these services. A two-week notice is appreciated.
