New Teacher 2020 Support Seminar
After School - Virtual Sessions 3:30-5:00
This seminar series will focus on how to plan and navigate through the 2020 school year as a new teacher when you don’t know exactly what learning environment you are planning for?
This series will also include bi-weekly virtual check-ins and support to participants in between seminars.
Seminar 1: Effective Teaching in All Learning Environments

As the school year gets started, let’s work together to develop clear student expectations along with established routines and procedures.
Seminar 2: How to Communicate, Build Relationships, and Select

As you approach the end of the first quarter, it’s time to practice effective communication with families, continue to build relationships with students and families, and start to think about high quality content that needs to be delivered and mastered.
Seminar 3: Planning for Mastery in Any Setting
Thursday, November 19, 3:30-5:00
Now that the school year is in full swing and you have had a chance to establish your classroom community;
let’s dive into lesson design and pacing for the remainder of the school year.
Seminar 4: Grading and Assessment Tips & Tricks
Thursday, December 17, 3:30-5:00
You are almost ready for a winter break so let's touch base and learn about ways to assess student learning and what types of things should be graded no matter what learning environment you are currently in.
Cost for the complete 4 part series and bi-weekly check-ins is $100 per person for CESA 8 CIA member school districts and $200 per person for all other participants.
