Introduction to the Revised English Language Arts Standards (Virtual Presentation)

Participants in this session will use professional learning materials from Wisconsin’s DPI to interact with the state’s newly revised standards for English language arts. 

Goals for the learning include:

• Understand how to read and use the revised ELA standards document
• Understand revisions to the standards
• Consider how local curriculum and assessments could be revised to reflect the 2020 standards
• Learn several high-leverage instructional practices to meet the needs of every learner

The session is designed to engage educators working at any grade-level.
Participants are encouraged to attend in teams, as time will be reserved for planning on-going professional learning at the school, district, and/or CESA level.

**Participants should be prepared with an outline from one unit in their English language arts or literacy curriculum. It’s not necessary to bring all supplementary materials, such as texts; an outline or unit plan will be sufficient.**

Cancellation Policy: Registered participants will receive a full refund if they cancel before 10 working days before an event, minus any material costs that have already been incurred. Because of our commitment to the trainer and the food vendor, participants who cancel less than 10 working days or do not attend, will be billed the full fee. CESA 5 reserves the right to cancel any event. Registered participants will be notified via email if a cancellation occurs and will receive a full refund. Inclement weather policy: Every effort will be made to hold an event. CESA 5 will notify participants via email as soon as possible if an event has been canceled due to weather conditions.
