CANCELED Assistive Technology for VI Students with Amy Snow

Amy Snow is a Certified Assistive Technology Instructional Specialist, (CATIS). She provides AT evaluations in conjunction with local teachers of the visually impaired.  She also works with teachers, districts, and CESA's to provide professional development and consultant services.  This session will focus on identified needs of CESA 8 professionals supporting students with visual impairments. 

Here are some of the things Amy will be covering:

BN Touch Base:  (focus on screenreader on/off for sighted paras or teachers, basic commands, menu structure)

Direct Braille with Juliet 120: (embossing from a flash drive, braille layouts)

Juliet 120 and Firebird Graphics: (opening a graphic, overview of software, basic editing and exporting a graphic)

BrailleBlaster: (opening a file, creating a file, basic transalation & cleanup of files, sending the graphic to be embossed)

We are anticipating some "hands on time" to apply some of the presented material.  Recources will be provided and shared out.

Cost: $25.00 for PDforSESS member districts
