2021 Engineering Machine Design Contest

WHO: Teams of 5th-12th Grade Students, Junior Division Grades 5-8, Senior Division Grades 9-12    -  Junior is now 5th-8th!
WHAT: Design and build a complex machine using simple, everyday objects.
MISSION: Driving Change Through Transportation
CONTEST: Teams of 3-10 will be scored on Team Journal, Team Presentation, and Machine Design and Operation 

Your student team can compete with other teams from arund CESA 10 in the preliminaries for the Minnesota State Engineering Center for Excellence ENGINEERING MACHINE DESIGN CONTEST! Teams from middle and high schools are invited to participate. If you are interested in coaching a team, register today and we will send you all the support materials you need to get started. You do not have to have your team assembled to register, just let us know your intention and we will follow up with you throughout the year. Schools and coaches are welcome to enter more than one team.

This contest is planned as a face-to-face experience at our Chippewa Falls Conference Center with the option for a virtual event on the same day if circumstances indicate that to be necessary.

Successful teams will be invited to participate in the Minnesota State Center for Engineering Excellence Championship Event, location TBD.

Coaches, please register here.  A  Google form will be sent at a later date to collect your student information.

This workshop is offered at no cost to those districts participating in College & Career Readiness LS2, including Abbotsford, Bloomer, Bruce, Cadott, Chippewa Falls, Colby, Eleva-Strum, Flambeau, Gilmanton, Greenwood, Lake Holcombe, Loyal, Mondovi, Neillsville, New Auburn, Osseo-Fairchild, Owen-Withee, and Spencer.  Discount will be automatically applied.

The cost for all others is $500 per participant.
