Description: This online workshop will take place with five modules. Modules 1-3 will be held on the days provided. Modules 4-5 will take place separately from a scheduled session and will occur in an asynchronous fashion.

Module 1 (2 hours synchronous):  Reflection and Blended Learning - Outcomes: 
1. Engage in reflection discourse based on prior experience (using a rubric to support next steps)
2. Exposure to blended learning models and contextual application for 3 scenarios (Virtual, Hybrid, and F2F)

Module 2 (2 hours synchronous): Universal Design for Learning - Outcomes: 
1.  Examine learner variability and understand the need for UDL
2.  Learn about the 3 principles of UDL and applications
3.  Engage in virtual UDL methodology

Module 3 (2 hours synchronous): Instructional Design and Application - Outcomes: 
1.  Examine a UDL lesson and consider the 3 UDL principles and tools for support
2.  Engage collaboratively in groups discussing barriers for 3 scenarios (Virtual, Hybrid, and F2F)
3.  Examine authentic assessment and feedback practices

Module 4 (2 hours asynchronous):  Choice 1-hour Topic Deep Dives - Outcomes: 
1. Choose 2 topics to dig deeper to provide further knowledge for application
2. Share learning in a collaborative platform. 
Examples of 1-hour topics:  Specific Digital Tools, Effective Communication, Virtual Learning for Families, Building Relationships, and Virtual Ice Breakers...

Module 5 (2 hours asynchronous):  Create Application Artifact - Outcomes: 
1.  Create a plan for learning experiences based on content and context (may use UDL lesson format or other as long as learning is applied)
2.  Share artifacts with a collaborative group
3.  Receive feedback for consideration.

If this is completed, the participant will receive a certificate and badge!  :) This will serve as a completion of 10 hours of learning and application as well as a badge to share with their community.

 

About the Presenter:

 

Beth Clarke is an innovative educator with a passion for digital leadership. She loves working with districts and teachers to unleash potential by leveraging digital tools and resources. Beth earned her Undergraduate degree in Art Education and her Graduate degree in Instructional Technology from UW-Whitewater. Additionally, she has procured her Education Administration licenses for Principalship and Director of Curriculum and Instruction from Edgewood College. She has a love of learning and applying new strategies to classroom opportunities, professional learning, and presentations.

 

 


Cancellation Policy: Registered participants will receive a refund if they cancel prior to 3 working days before an event, minus any material costs that have already been incurred. Cancellations must either be made on MyQuickReg or by emailing cancel@cesa2.org. Because of our commitment to the presenter and the food vendor, participants who cancel less than 3 working days prior to the event or who do not attend the event, will be billed the full fee. CESA 2 reserves the right to cancel any event. Registered participants will be notified via phone and email if a cancellation occurs and will receive a full refund. 

Inclement Weather Policy: Every effort will be made to hold an event. CESA 2 will notify participants via email as soon as possible if an event has been cancelled due to weather conditions.

In-Person Events: Restrictions on our in-person events due to COVID-19 have been lifted. We will be responsive to what's happening within our communities, and guidelines from the CDC and local health agencies for future offerings and will update guidelines when necessary.
