The ability to create with technology will empower our students to be creative, solve complex problems, and allow them to take advantage of exciting job opportunities in every industry. The Hour of Code is an engaging coding challenge that give students a fun introduction to computer science as part of an exciting international event. In this virtual workshop we will learn how to bring the Hour of Code to your classroom or school. We will take away all your fears and show you how Hour of Code can be easy and fun for you and your students. You will learn about classroom tested tools for implementing the Hour of Code, including how to connect your students with real computer scientists in your local area. We will have structured planning time and a Q&A session, so sign up with a team! |
Learning outcomes include:
- Learn about the importance of computer science for all students.
- Learn how to get all students excited about computer science and empower all learners to code.
- Plan for implementation of Hour of Code at your school.
- Explore proven methods for attracting quality computer science volunteers to your event.
This workshop is offered at no cost to those districts participating in College & Career Readiness LS2, including Abbotsford, Bloomer, Bruce, Cadott, Chippewa Falls, Colby, Eleva-Strum, Flambeau, Gilmanton, Greenwood, Lake Holcombe, Loyal, Mondovi, Neillsville, New Auburn, Osseo-Fairchild, Owen-Withee, and Spencer. Discount will be automatically applied.
The cost for all others is $500 per participant.
