Due to COVID and the lack of substitute teachers, there is a need to change the original structure of this course to better serve our classroom teachers during this time.  Therefore, in order to meet the learning outcomes of the course and the needs of registrants, the following changes will be made:

  • The Oct. 1 training will no longer be held synchronously on Zoom.  The director, Steph Wagner, will create the contact and you will be invited into a Canvas course where you can complete the course asynchronously between Oct. 1 and Oct. 9.
  • Steph has set up three times to be on-line, so you can log-in to discuss content, get questions answered, etc.  You are not required to attend these webinars, but invited to attend to collaobrate with others and ask questions realted to the material.  Those times and topics of discussion are below (Zoom links will be sent prior to the Tuesday, Oct. 6 time):
    • Tuesday, Oct. 6 from 3:30-4:30 - The What and Why of Mentoring and Attributes
    • Wednesday, Oct. 7 from 3:30-4:30 - Assessing and Supporting Beginning Teacher Needs
    • Thursday, Oct. 8 from 3:30-4:30 - Effective Instruction and Supporing the EE Cycle

If you have any questions about the new mode of learning for this course, please do not hesitate to reach out to Steph swagner@cesa4.org and ask.  Prior to Oct.1, registrants will receive an invitation to join a Canvas course.  Registrants should be on the lookout for that email and follow the directions provided.

The completion of this training curriculum qualifies teacher mentors to provide induction support to new-to-profession and new-to-district teachers as required in Wis. Administrative Code sec. PI 34.  It was developed collaboratively with CESA staff and practicing teacher mentors.

ALL POLICIES APPLY UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED IN THE INDIVIDUAL EVENT DETAILS.

Participant Cancellation Policy: You must contact CESA 4 to cancel attendance one week prior to the scheduled event unless otherwise stated in the individual event details. CESA 4 will only provide full refund of registration fees depending on individual circumstances. Refunds depend upon the ability of CESA 4 to cancel any financial obligations created by the registration such as meals, materials, etc. CESA 4 reserves the right to cancel any workshop due to insufficient enrollment. Participants will be notified by e-mail or phone if a workshop is cancelled. If a participant is a 'no show' the school will be billed for the registration fee, or loss of the 'free' attendance slot.

Dietary Restrictions: Because of the number of meals served, number of ingredients used, and food product changes from vendors, we cannot guarantee dietary restrictions as indicated in a user's myQuickReg profile will be accommodated. Participants with dietary restrictions such as food allergies should plan to bring their own refreshments.

Weather Conditions: If a workshop has been cancelled due to weather conditions, every effort will be made to reschedule the workshop. If weather conditions are questionable, please call CESA 4 Voice Mail at (608) 786-4800; Toll Free (800) 514-3075. A message will be posted regarding workshop weather cancellations.

Additional Accommodations: If you need an accommodation to participate including interpreter services (sign language or other spoken language) please email the workshop contact to set up these services. A two-week notice is appreciated.
