Virtual - Roll Out for Revised ELA (English Language Arts) Standards

This workshop will be facilitated by a DPI Representative.

Participants in this session will use professional learning materials from Wisconsin’s DPI to  interact with the state’s newly revised standards for English language arts. Goals for the learning include:

• Understand how to read and use the revised ELA standards document
• Understand revisions to the standards
• Consider how local curriculum and assessments could to be revised to reflect to reflect the 2020 standards
• Learn several high-leverage instructional practices to meet the needs of every learner

The session is designed to engage educators working at any grade-level. Participants are encouraged to attend in teams, as time will be reserved for planning on-going professional learning at the school, district, and/or CESA level. Participants should bring an internet-ready device (such as a laptop or tablet) and an outline from one unit in their English language arts or literacy curriculum. It’s not necessary to bring all supplementary materials, such as texts; an outline or unit plan will be sufficient.
