Lisa Andreini will be presenting on Intro to Social-Cognitive Thinking

This is a repeat of what was offered on August 25, 2011.

Come and explore the abstract social world encountered by our students on the autism spectrum through a different approach that goes beyond teaching social skills. This workshop will address how to think socially and why it is important. The presentation will provide an understanding of social-coginitive thinking, perspective taking, emotional regulation, non-verbal communication and language. Participants will leave with concrete ideas, strategies and numerous resources that can readily be applied in the classroom.

Ideas inspired by the work of Michelle Garcia Winner and Social Thinking term trademark, www.socialthinking.com

Instructor: Lisa Andreini, Special Education Teacher for 20 years in the Pulaski Community School District with an emphasis on social-cognitive and social-emotional learning, Mentor Training under Michelle Garcia Winner
