Covering Kids & Families

Overview of Covering Kids and Families’ project goals and introduction of outreach strategies and resources for Wisconsin school districts, CESA staff, families and partners. 15 minutes

Brief review of the key BadgerCare+ eligibility and enrollment options for children and families
20 minutes

Discussion:
• Identify CESA staff, school districts or individuals in CESA 8 who are best suited to participate in the first steps of the project that include introduction and basic training in BadgerCare+ for Children and Families. Engaging about one half of all districts in the next 12-15 months of the project is desirable.
• Identify opportunities and barriers for securing participating school districts 45 minutes

Introduction to BadgerCare+ Training (Power Point session) and Outreach Resources from Covering Kids and Families (CKF online Toolbox materials)
• Followed by discussion of the levels of training content and the availability of training and support resources.
• Training for use of promotional materials with local contact information, and preparation to assist families with BadgerCare+ enrollment 60 minutes

Establish priority and plan for scheduling introductory presentations and training sessions 20 minutes

Establish communication plan for partners and school district participants. 15 minutes

CESA 8 will only provide full refund of registration fees depending on individual circumstances. Refunds depend upon the ability of CESA 8 to cancel any financial obligations created by the registration such as meals, materials, etc. Registered participants not in attendance on the day of the session will be charged the full registration fee.
