Desmos Workshop Series via Zoom - Workshop 1: Desmos 101

Workshop 1: Desmos 101 & Desma Classroom Activities

Handheld graphing calculators can be costly, hard to use and may have limited capabilities. Some students may not have access to these calculators for financial reasons.  Desmos is a free, online graphing calculator that is easy to use and accessible to ALL students. Workshop participants will learn basic functions for the Desmos graphing calculator, four-function calculator, scientific calculator, and the geometry tool.  Desmos accessibility functions will be shared in order to allow Desmos to be used by all students, including those with physical and cognitive disabilities.

Desmos Classroom Activities help to deepen student mathematical understanding when students engage in pre-made classroom activities. Students working together on these free, online activities help to create a more collaborative environment. Workshop participants will explore the ready-made classroom activities.  

Time: 9 a.m. - noon

Cost: FREE (CESA 8 has received a grant to help alleviate registration costs.)   

Participants will receive a Zoom link prior to the event.
