Who should attend?

Early Childhood teachers, social workers, speech therapists, Head Start Staff, diagnostic teachers, and school psychologists are encouraged to attend to learn efficient approaches to gathering priority information for developing more functional IEP's.

The Routines-Based Interview is used with families, teachers and caregivers in many states and programs serving children ages Birth through age 8. Participants will receive an intensive hands-on training opportunity including demonstration, practice and feedback. This is an opportunity to learn the process of a routines-based interview which leads to building stronger family relationships, writing more functional IEP goals and rating preschool outcomes.

Although the Routines-Based Interview was developed specifically as a tool to include families of young children in the assessment and goal writing process for their child, RBI is being successfully utilized throughout the nation for older children as well.  This is an especially helpful means, as children transition from one environment to another and allows educators in the new environment to have a more in-depth look at not only current functioning but progress. When used with both family AND educators, everyone wins.

NOTE: This is a two part training. April 24 and May 1
