Each year, you receive ACCESS 2.0 scores for your English Learners. Once you receive them, what do you do with the data? What are the next steps to help close the achievement gap with your English Learners? Spend a few hours with us, and we will show you how you can use the data to inform instruction and support services to English Learners.

Goals of this workshop include:

  • Unpack scores and examine options for instruction, grouping, and professional development for teachers.
  • Review the DPI EL Policy Handbook and the guidelines related to reclassifying English Learners.
  • Introduce and review individualized learning plan (ILP) templates that may work for your school or district.
  • Analyze and use the WIDA Can Do Descriptors to design individualized learning plans or action steps to get students and teachers prepared for the 2020-21 school year.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to implement high impact strategies and high quality instruction that will best meet the needs of each English Learner based on ACCESS 2.0 scores and student action plans.
Audience: Support Administrators, English Learner Specialists and Program Coordinators, and Content Teachers who are interested in deepening their understanding of ACCESS scores and strategies for teaching English Learners.
