This career conference will feature experts in the energy fields like hydroelectric, wind, solar, geothermals and more!  Students will explore different careers within the broad energy field and learn how to use Xello and Inspire to dig deeper into occupations.  Some of the fastest growing careers are in the energy field, and the experts will tell students what jobs are in high demand, and where students could work in the field, both near to home and across the globe!  

This event is targeted to middle school students, but older students with an interest in the field are welcome to come along.  

Registration Fee: District Teams consist of 1 adult + 15 students maximum
$0 (CESA #12 Vocational Equity & STEAM Consortium districts) Chequamegon, Drummond, Hurley, Mellen, South Shore, Solon Springs and Washburn
$500 all other district teams

Registration starts: 9:00 

Welcome and Keynote  9:15 - 9:30 

Industry Presentations (in-person or zooming in) 9:30 - 10:30 (hydro turbine techs; geothermal; line technicians)

Education & Xello & Inspire  10:45 - 11:30 (Northland College)

Lunch: 11:30 - 11:50 

Transport to Xcel Energy Service Center and Community Solar Garden: 11:50 - 12:00

Afternoon Session: Tour of Xcel Energy and Community Solar Garden: 12:00  - 1:00  (1 hour) - Michael Bebeau

Afternoon Transport back to CESA 12  1:00 - 1:10

CESA 12

1:15 - 1:45 closing activity - Student reflections and sharing (teacher facilitation)

Students Depart for Home: 1:45

Cancellation Policy:

Any registration cancellation must be received by the registration deadline date stated on the event for a refund to be issued. Persons registering and not in attendance on the day of the session will be charged the full registration fee (substitutions are accepted). CESA 12 reserves the right to cancel any session due to insufficient enrollment. Participants will be notified by email or phone if a cancellation occurs.

Weather conditions:

If a workshop has been canceled due to weather conditions, every effort will be made to reschedule the workshop. Participants will be notified via email through myQuickReg.com if a cancellation occurs. Please make sure all your contact information is correct on myQuickReg.com
