Session Topic:   District teams or individual CTE teachers, school counselors, Perkin’s Funds Coordinators, principals, and school counselors can attend this one day workshop to develop district pathways in compliance with the 2020-21 Carl Perkins Grant application and State Endorsed Pathway development.

A career pathway is a coherent, articulated sequence of rigorous academic and career-related courses, leading to an associate degree, and/or an industry-recognized certificate or licensure, and/or a baccalaureate and beyond.  Career Pathways in K12 are realized through each district’s Academic and Career Planning process.  A career pathway is developed, implemented, and maintained in partnership among secondary and postsecondary education, business, and employers.  A career pathway is available to all students and designed to lead through the desired levels of education and training to rewarding careers.  There are eight requirements for a state-endorsed pathway to be developed:

  1. Employer Led and Collaborative
  2. Labor Market Information Driven
  3. Sequence of Courses
  4. Work-Based Learning
  5. Industry Credential
  6. College Credit
  7. Included as part of ACP delivery
  8. Equity and access for ALL students

This workshop will provide your team with the resources and tools to complete your district pathways.
