Virtual Book Study - March 16, 2020 - April 24, 2020
The book UDL in the Cloud by Katie Novak and Tom Thibodeau helps educators design and deliver more accessible, engaging, and effective online learning experiences. The authors offer a highly practical approach to developing e-courses, virtual snow days, flipped classes, and blended learning experiences that meet the needs of diverse learners.
During this asynchronous book study participants will discuss potential barriers to learning, cultivate an engaging “instructor presence” in a virtual environment, develop a detailed syllabus that inspires and motivates students, help scaffold students’ time management skills, and much more.
Learning Targets:
- I can build my understanding of practical strategies for implementing UDL in virtual learning experiences.
- I can develop/revise examples in my own work that model UDL strategies in a virtual learning space.
- I can participate in an active, respectful, collaborative and growth-oriented book discussion.
Collaborating with your virtual book study peers:
- New discussion prompts will be posted every Monday, March 16 – April 20, in our Virtual Classroom.
- You will post your initial thoughts, questions and maybe even videos to the discussion by Thursday of the same week.
- Between Thursday and Sunday, you will respond to others in the group.
Free book - UDL in the Cloud for the first 20 registrants! There is no charge for this Virtual Book Study!
