Presenter: Robin Rivas

Description: How do you meet the linguistic and cultural needs of English Learners within your multi-tiered system of support?

Participants will explore the WI framework of E-MLSS to identify local priority/need through a continuous improvement process, engage in conversations around systemic thinking, beliefs, and systematic practices, and identify potential approaches, solutions, or strategies (long term, medium term, short term).

Topics will include: Understanding ELs' and Their Needs, Introducing and applying WI Framework of E-MLSS, and Identifying Potential Giftedness of ELs.

Participants will examine their own systems of support to identify places for increased support of EL considerations. The focus will be on Tier 1, Tier 2, and potential giftedness.

Included is the book, Differentiation for Gifted Learners by Cash & Heacox, at no additional cost.

Cost:

  • $180 for Non-members
  • $60 for Immigrant Grant Members
  • $60 for Title III Consortium Members
