Presenter: Kaye Henrickson, Digital Literacy Director at CESA 4

Description: Through the ISTE Certification process, teachers will participate in 30 hours of dynamic in-person and online professional learning based on the ISTE Standards and transformative pedagogy. This workshop is the two-day in person professional learning.  We will set you up to begin the online modules (15 weeks) at the end of this workshop. We will facilitate and support the online portion of your learning as well.

After completing the training, participants have six months to apply their learning and compile artifacts and reflections into a competency-based portfolio which will be evaluated by ISTE, the only organization that awards the certification.

Steps to becoming an ISTE Certified Educator:

  1. Attend in-person workshop (1-2 days)

  2. Complete online coursework (15 weeks)

  3. Prepare and submit an eportfolio to ISTE for review (6 months) - the educator will be provided access to a certification portal where participants can get feedback from their cohort while preparing their portfolio of artifacts and reflections.

Once submitted, ISTE Certification Evaluators will review the artifacts. Those who successfully meet the certification will become ISTE Certified Educators.

About the Presenter:

Kaye Henrickson brings over 20 years of classroom experience to CESA #4. Her first teaching experience came in Grades 3 and 6 in the Whitehall School District. She has spent the last 13 years in the Black River Falls School District, serving as Grade 8 English teacher, Team Leader and Technology Integration Coach. She is eager to bring her strong classroom connections and passion for student engagement and achievement to share best practices and developmentally appropriate instruction to connect the world of educator accountability to the digital world of our students.

Note: If you are a nursing mother, please be sure to include that in the notes of your registration. We have a private room available for nursing mothers, which must be reserved. The key can be obtained from Emily at the front desk when you arrive.

It's that time of the year where the unpredictable weather outdoors makes our training rooms either too cold or too warm. Training room temperatures are controlled offsite and often take time before the adjustment is noticed. We suggest bringing a sweater, wearing close-toed shoes and/or dressing in layers to assure you are as comfortable as possible while at our facility.
