In response to interest surveys, we are bringing a train-the-trainer model of professional learning where participants will walk away with resources necessary to understand disproportionate identification gaps of high-ability/high-potential underrepresented students and develop responsive practives for addressing local disproportionality gaps.

Training includes:

  • Reviewing Local Data
  • Identifying Local Disproportionality Gaps
  • Exploring Culturally Relevant Practices
  • Navigating U-STARS ~ PLUS TOPS (Teacher's Observation of Potential in Students)
  • Understanding Differentiated Instructional Practices for Gifted Learners
  • Employing Family Engagement
  • Connecting Equitable Multi-Level Systems of Supports to include Advanced Learners
  • Planning Time for Local Identification and Programming
