RISE Reading Intervention and Guided Word Study
with Jan Richardson
RISE and RISE UP are two interventions based on the lesson framework of Jan Richardson’s bestselling The Next Step Forward in Guided Reading. The lessons can be implemented by classroom teachers or specialists. Students receive intensive small-group instruction in reading, word study, comprehension, and writing. Data show students make three times the average progress in 6-8 weeks. Learn how to motivate and accelerate your struggling readers with this highly-effective, research-based program.
Increase the power of your guided reading lessons by including short, developmentally-appropriate word study activities that are based on student assessments and linked to the guided reading text. Learn effective, hands-on activities that build phonemic awareness, improve word solving skills, teach spelling patterns, and extend vocabulary. The presentation includes video clips of word study lessons for emergent, early, transitional, and fluent readers.

Registrations ARE transferable within your organization. CESA 5 WILL NOT CANCEL THE EVENT DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER. CESA 5 reserves the right to cancel any event.
