Workshop Learning Objectives  

  • Increased understanding of the CCR-IEP 5 Step Process from the lens of related service providers (focus on steps 1 & 2).
  • Increased understanding of how related service providers can support reading outcomes as well as options for supporting reading for students identified with a speech/language impairment.  
  • Application of Steps 1 and 2 of the Five Step Process to support teams in developing IEPs designed to improve access, engagement, and progress for students.
  • Identify strategies to use in preparing for and participating in IEP team meetings, including ways in which related services providers can support IEP team discussions.
  • Awareness of CCR-IEP resources.

Preparation for the Workshop

Participants are encouraged to review each of the Five Step Process Webinars or other resources (e.g. at a glance documents) available on the WI DPI CCR IEP Learning Resources web page

In addition, participants are strongly encouraged to attend in groups of at least two from the same district. Each participant must bring a copy of a student’s IEP* to use as reference or have access to an IEP online to use during the training.

*Workshop participants are reminded of FERPA protections and are highly encouraged to redact personally identifiable information from IEPs they may happen to share with participants from other districts during workshop activities.
