12:30 am -  3:30 pm  Session: Promoting SEL with Students; Team planning time

Schools have been implementing SEL by focusing on building awareness, commitment and creating a plan. Many teams are now ready for the next steps, including, cultivating adult SEL, promoting SEL for students and using data for continuous quality improvement.  In this session, participants will:

  • Identify how to strengthen the social and emotional skills of staff
  • Plan how to build their staff expertise to support SEL efforts in the school
  • Learn how to build student acquisition of skills
  • Learn how to support student application of skills
  • Develop a plan to collect data for continuous quality improvement of SEL efforts using a Plan Do Study Act (PDSA) process

Please note: This session has pre-requisite requirements. Your school has:

  • Completed a Day 1 training with a team;
  • Completed SEL assessment rubric;
  • A team dedicated to coordinating SEL efforts; and
  • A team of three or more who will attend.


Participant Cancellation Policy: You must contact CESA #4 to cancel attendance one week prior to the scheduled event, unless otherwise stated in the event details. CESA #4 will only provide full refund of registration fees depending on individual circumstances. Refunds depend upon the ability of CESA #4 to cancel any financial obligations created by the registration such as meals, materials, etc. CESA #4 reserves the right to cancel any workshop due to insufficient enrollment. Participants will be notified by e-mail or phone if a workshop is cancelled. If a participant is a 'no show' the school will be billed for the registration fee, or loss of the 'free' attendance slot.

Weather Conditions: If a workshop has been cancelled due to weather conditions, every effort will be made to reschedule the workshop. If weather conditions are questionable, please call CESA #4 Voice Mail at (608) 786-4800; Toll Free (800) 514-3075. A message will be posted regarding workshop weather cancellations.

Dietary Restrictions: CESA #4 will make every attempt to accommodate dietary restrictrions as noted in a user's MyQuickReg profile; however, we encourage anyone with a dietary restriction or preference to bring food items in case the event menu cannot fully accommodate. Other Helpful Hints: Room temperatures vary from one workshop location to another, so bring a jacket or sweater for maximum comfort.
